10/12 of #top12 #2025 The Quirky Smile of a Stranger on the Beach I got inspired, so I decided to select my Top 12 photos of 2025. Some of them I selected because I liked the photo, and others because of the experience of taking them, but for all of them it is a way to remember some of the places I have visited and, mostly, the people I have met along the way. I was walking along the beach in Miri, Sarawak, cooling off from the sun, when I spotted a woman sitting under a palm tree reading a book with her headphones on. So I stopped and started taking photos of her, moving around a bit to get better angles and to experiment. Then she looked up, smiled, and asked if I was a newspaper photographer. I said no and explained that I was wandering around trying to find interesting photos when I saw her.
