12/12 of #top12 Waking Up a Bird in the Night Foto: Jens Hauser
I got inspired so I thought of selecting my Top 12 photos of 2017. Some of them I selected because I liked the photo and others the experience in taking them but for all of them it is a way to remember some of the places I have visited but mostly the people I have met.
My twelfe photo is of a sleeping bird or rather a bird that was sleeping but I woke up. Me and my guide Faijan walked around the Tungog Lake close to the Eco Camp, Borneo, Malaysia, in the middle of the night trying to find interesting animals to photograph. There were plenty of mosquitoes and sand flies that bit me all the time but we eventually did find a sleeping bird. Unfortunately I woke it up with my flash so he looked a me and then flew off.
My special thanks go to all the staff at the Eco Camp, Borneo, Malaysia for making my stay there as pleasant as possible. And even more thank you to Mohd Faijan Mustapah for spending all those hours in the forest and on the river.
